⏱ Arrival & Check-In

• Arrival Time: Guests should ideally aim to arrive to Ahlan Camp two hours before sunset. This will allow you to take the camel trek from the camp to the high dune in time for the sunset.
• Late Arrivals: Risk missing the sunset camel ride (not an issue of you are staying more than one night).
• Please note: the camp is only accessible with our guidance via 4WD.

🐪 Camel Ride

• The camel ride from our camp to the sunset vantage point takes about 45mins there and 45mins back with a stop on a high dune to enjoy the sunset.
• The ride is fully adjustable: please advise us before you set off if you would like to make a shorter trek.
• What to bring: scarf/hat, sunglasses, water, sunblock, and appropriate clothing for the season.

Camel Ride Conditions

• Must be reserved in advance and confirmed at least one day before arrival.
• Once confirmed, camels and guides are booked and paid for. If guests arrive late and miss the ride, we are unable to refund.
• Only one person per camel (unless it is a child aged 1 to 5, in which case parent and child ride together)

Check-Out & Transfers

• After sunrise, guests enjoy a shower and breakfast at camp.
• 4WD transfers back to town start around 9:00 AM, with each trip taking 1.5–2.0 hours.
• Latest check-out: 11:00 AM, as preparing the camp for new arrivals requires complex logistics compared to a normal hotel.

🌱 Eco-Friendly Camp Guidelines

At Ahlan Camp, we are committed to preserving the desert environment. We kindly ask for your cooperation to help us maintain our sustainable practices:

• Energy: Electricity comes from solar panels and batteries. Please switch off lights and devices when not in use to help conserve energy.
• Sockets: In our dining area, European Type C & E sockets are available for phones, cameras and laptops.. ⚠️ In your tent there are no sockets and therefore it is not possible to use high-power devices such as hair dryers or water heaters.
• Water: Water is precious in the desert. Please use it sparingly whenever possible.
• Toilets: Please do not flush toilet paper. Use the bin provided.
• Doors: Tent doors should always be closed and locked. This helps keep insects out and prevents sand from entering your tent.
• Shoes: For hygiene, please leave your shoes on the small carpet at the entrance of your tent.
• Toiletries: All shampoo, shower gel, and soap provided are eco-friendly and biodegradable.
