I come from the desert, and perhaps that is why I am drawn to wide open spaces, silence, and the stars. I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and sharing experiences and stories.
My journey began working in a café, then as a trekking guide, before moving into the world of desert camps. After seven years of hard work and dedication, I am now proud to own my own camp.
At our camp, we are Amazigh and Sahrawi, and we love sharing the culture, traditions, and way of life that we are deeply proud of. My family were once nomads who lived among the nearby dunes, and this part of Morocco remains my spiritual home. It is a place that holds my roots, my history, and the stories of generations before me.
I am gradually developing the camp as an eco-camp, making improvements step by step to minimise its environmental impact while remaining true to the traditions of the desert.
The camp is called Ahlan, which means “welcome” in my language. The logo incorporates the name into the face of a nomad, symbolising the warmth and hospitality that are at the heart of nomadic culture.
Offering a genuine welcome has always been an important part of a nomad’s way of life, and it is a value that we are proud to share with every guest who stays with us.
